1 of 14 · Fascicule 3, question 69

A driver should adjust the vehicle's speed according to the characteristics and condition of the road, the weather, the traffic and other special circumstances, so that the vehicle can be stopped safely within the unobstructed and observable space ahead, and also:

ATo avoid any foreseeable obstructions under normal circumstancesOfficial answer
BTo avoid any accidents
CTo ensure the safety and comfort of passengers
DTo avoid making noise when stopping
2 of 14 · Fascicule 3, question 70

If a driver is unsure whether sudden deceleration would endanger other road users, especially drivers of vehicles behind, the driver should not decelerate suddenly:

AExcept when necessary because of imminent dangerOfficial answer
BExcept at night
CExcept when the traffic is flowing smoothly
DExcept inside the urban area
3 of 14 · Fascicule 3, question 71

A vehicle must obey the general maximum speed limit stated in the Supplementary Laws, but:

AMust also comply with the maximum or minimum speed limits shown by an appropriate signal because of traffic conditionsOfficial answer
BMust also comply with the international maximum and minimum speed limits
CDoes not have to comply with the maximum or minimum speed limits shown by an appropriate signal because of traffic conditions
DDoes not have to comply with the maximum or minimum speed limits shown by any other signals
4 of 14 · Fascicule 3, question 72

When approaching which of the following places should a driver slow down, regardless of the maximum speed limit?

AA passage on a roadway marked for pedestrians to crossOfficial answer
BExpressways
CBridges
DRoads where traffic flows smoothly
5 of 14 · Fascicule 3, question 73

A driver should not drive at an unreasonably slow speed and obstruct other road users, or:

AViolate the minimum speed limitOfficial answer
BKeep driving on the left for a prolonged time
CNot overtaking frequently
DNot changing lanes
6 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 1

Vehicles travelling on the road should keep a safe distance from each other:

ASo that other road users can change lanes arbitrarily or overtake without following the established rules
BSo that there is enough room and time to react when someone changes lane arbitrarily or overtakes without following the established rules, and when the car in front brakes suddenlyOfficial answer
CDoing so will cause more traffic congestion and will not help in road safety
DIt is a matter that only heavy vehicle drivers should care about
7 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 2

Safe distance can be measured in two simple ways:

ABy driving speed or by secondsOfficial answer
BBy kilometres or by metres
CBy machines or manually
DBy traditional or by new methods
8 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 3

When driving speed is used to calculate the safe distance, the minimum following distance to be kept is, in general, obtained by:

AFor large vehicles, deducting 10 from the speed and, for small vehicles, dividing the speed by 1
BFor large vehicles, deducting 20 from the speed and, for small vehicles, dividing the speed by 2Official answer
CFor large vehicles, deducting 30 from the speed and, for small vehicles, dividing the speed by 3
DFor large vehicles, deducting 40 from the speed and, for small vehicles, dividing the speed by 4
9 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 4

Under normal weather conditions, the safe distance calculated in seconds is:

AFor small vehicles, a following distance of at least one second and, for large vehicles, at least two seconds
BFor small vehicles, a following distance of at least two seconds and, for large vehicles, at least three secondsOfficial answer
CFor small vehicles, a following distance of at least three seconds and, for large vehicles, at least four seconds
DFor small vehicles, a following distance of at least two seconds and, for large vehicles, at least two seconds
10 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 5

To calculate the safe distance in seconds for small or large vehicles, you should use a fixed point as a reference and, once the vehicle in front of you has passed that point:

ACount for 2 to 3 seconds. If your vehicle has passed the fixed point before the counting is completed, it means that the distance is not sufficient and should be increased by slowing down your vehicleOfficial answer
BCount for 3 to 4 seconds. If your vehicle has passed the fixed point before the counting is completed, it means that the distance is not sufficient and should be increased by slowing down your vehicle
CCount for 4 to 5 seconds. If your vehicle has passed the fixed point before the counting is completed, it means that the distance is not sufficient and should be increased by slowing down your vehicle
DCount for 5 to 6 seconds. If your vehicle has passed the fixed point before the counting is completed, it means that the distance is not sufficient and should be increased by slowing down your vehicle
11 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 6

For safety reasons, when a vehicle is following you too closely:

ADo not brake suddenly. You should gently apply the brakes to give the driver of the vehicle behind sufficient time to react and, ideally, to slow down and increase the distance from your vehicleOfficial answer
BYou should keep accelerating until the vehicle behind is far away
CYou should brake suddenly to make the vehicle behind slow down
DYou should change lane immediately and at full speed so as to prevent the vehicle behind from crashing into yours
12 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 7

Before slowing down or stopping your vehicle:

AYou should alert the drivers behind in advance by using the corresponding signals, so that they know your intentions as soon as possibleOfficial answer
BYou should carry out your action at maximum speed so as not to affect traffic flow
CYou should be prepared to react in case the vehicle behind crashes into yours
DYou should first accelerate
13 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 8

If the vehicle behind is driving too closely to yours and there is no room for you to move forward, in this situation:

AYou can only brake suddenly to alert the vehicle behind
BYou can gently apply the brakes to tell the vehicle behind to keep its distance or, when conditions allow, change laneOfficial answer
CYou can only honk the horn anxiously to urge the vehicle in front to speed up
DYou can only change lane immediately to prevent the vehicle behind from crashing into yours
14 of 14 · Fascicule 5, question 9

You are in the right lane (overtaking lane) and the vehicle behind is driving very close to yours. If, at this moment, it is not possible for you to speed up and distance yourself from the vehicle behind:

AYou should move to the left lane, allow the vehicle behind to pass and then decide whether or not to return to the original laneOfficial answer
BYou can only maintain the same driving speed and be prepared to react in case a collision occurs
CYou can only slow down or stop your vehicle in the lane you are travelling in and force the vehicle behind to change to the left lane
DYou should slow down and stop your vehicle, get out and alert the vehicle behind not to follow too closely
